Why I Built This. And What You're Walking Into

Launch day. Steve shares the story behind the Predictable Producer Challenge, lessons from 24 years in the business, and why the real problem was never talent, market, or another script.

It's launch day, and before I tell you what the Predictable Producer Challenge is, I want to tell you why I built it. Understand the why, and the what makes complete sense.

A listener named Jason summed up income in this business with a single emoji: a roller coaster. Up and down, up and down. After 24 years, I'd call it the most accurate description I've ever heard.

Talented, Skilled, Still Inconsistent

My instinct used to be to blame the market. Rates too high, rates too low. But inconsistency shows up in every market condition. Talented loan officers with strong relationships and solid product knowledge still ride the same highs and lows. That ruled out skill as the root cause for me.

"Steve, you can't coast, because life isn't on a level playing field. It's always uphill." — Ron Lemon, my mentor

That conversation, at a barbecue joint years ago, reframed everything for me. Coasting isn't neutral. Without active advancement, you're losing ground. The discomfort of that idea was real, but it was also the beginning of building something that didn't rely on momentum or mood to keep working.

The Five Pillars

The Challenge breaks down into five distinct pillars, each one addressing a specific layer of the inconsistency problem.

This is the same operating system I used to rebuild from a cold desk. Looking back at what actually moved the needle for me after stepping back into origination, these five pillars were the answer, refined from 24 years of coaching and my own restart.

Why "Predictable Producer"

The name isn't a branding flourish. A predictable producer produces predictable income by running predictable activity the right way, in the right order. Simple, even if the name itself took me some convincing to settle on.

Five pillars. Five days. One operating system.

Over four and a half hours of teaching, five worksheets that become a complete workbook, and a roadmap built from 24 years of coaching loan officers.

It Doesn't Serve the World to Play Small

I built the Challenge as on-demand content specifically because waiting a week between modules works against momentum. Each day builds on the one before it, starting with identity and ending with the ask, so that by day five you've got a complete, usable system rather than five disconnected ideas.

My goal was never just to sell a challenge. It was to give you a starting point capable of changing the trajectory of the next 9 to 24 months of your business, the same way it changed mine.
